Board Retreat

We've kicked off the new fiscal year with a great retreat.

Thank you Judi Luffman for your words of wisdom.

Great work, Melvina and Denise!  New directors learned about our programs and old directors learned that we have more programs than CASA!

Thank you Portsmouth Partnership for letting us use your board room.

And Kudos to Joe's for great chicken salad and sweet tea.

Onward and upward!

Thank You

The dust is settling from our move down a block and across Crawford Street. We are settling in nicely.  The list of folks whose help and support need to be acknowledged is long.  I'll try to make it short.  Our new landlord was very helpful and accomodating. Thank you, Marshall Meredith and crew.  Our movers were efficient, careful and courteous. Thank you Absolute Moving Company.  Our phones and computers were up and running as quickly as humanly possible. Thank you Derrick Parker at Link voice and data and Lee at Cox Communications. If you have seen the logo on the awning over the door, you know how great Mike Mawhinney is at what he does!  And finally, our friends at Total Business Solutions put the finishing touch on our new front door today. It looks wonderful. Oh, thank you Roderick Madison, our new Board President for feeding us! We are so proud of our new home and grateful to those who helped us along the way.  Thank you, one and all.

Stay tuned.  We will be announcing a date for our Open House soon.

FOPJC's next step forward...

New location, new leadership and new ideas.   FOPJC is poised to begin a new chapter.

Newly elected president Roderick Madison brings a pragmatic approach and a quick smile to leadership. Treasurer John Hollingswoth brings a banker's sensibilities to finances. Former FOPJC directors Diane Griffin, Bart Tuthill and Kathy Wilder have renewed their commitment to the organization. Freshman director George Murphy is eager to have an impact in the community.

Add the experience and sage counsel of continuing directors Marc Crippen, Deniese Artis, Debbie Coley, Vernon Williams, Yvette Watkins-Cherry and Carlos Moulds; FOPJC is most assuredly positioned for  success.
